Environmental and Social Management Overview

KHN integrates social and environmental considerations throughout its project lifecycle. Through comprehensive studies, KHN seeks to understand local conditions, anticipate potential risks, and identify opportunities to enhance positive outcomes.
In managing potential risks and impacts, KHN prioritises avoidance wherever possible, and applies mitigation measures when avoidance cannot be achieved. These efforts are supported by coordinated administrative, technical, and institutional approaches.
Putting this into practice, KHN conducts a series of environmental and social studies that form the appropriate management strategy. Key studies include:
Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (AMDAL and ESIA) (2022)
Biodiversity (2021-2024)
Downstream Flow and Water Quality Management (2021 & 2024)
Biomass and H2S Management (2026)
Land Acquisition and Resettlement Action Plan (LARAP) for Reservoir Area (Stage 1: 2021, Stage 2: 2024)
Land Acquisition and Livelihood Restoration Plan (LALRP) for Transmission Line System (2024)
Indigenous Peoples and Communities Development Plan (IPCDP) (2022-2024)
