Mentarang, 31 July 2025 - A total of 62 students from Paking and Harapan Maju villages officially received their graduation certificates for Packages A, B, and C of the Non-Formal Education Program for the 2024/2025 academic year.

This pioneering distance-learning initiative is the result of a collaboration between PT Kayan Hydropower Nusantara (KHN) and the Community Learning Center (PKBM) Melati, conducted through KHN’s Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSER) programme known as KHN Lestari.

Launched in July 2024, the partnership aims to improve skills and expand access to education for communities around the Mentarang Induk Hydroelectric Project site, particularly for those with limited access to formal learning facilities.

Of the 67 students who registered and qualified to take the final exams, the program successfully graduated 10 participants from Package A, 26 from Package B, and 26 from Package C. Graduates from Package C are now eligible to continue their studies at university level, as non-formal education is officially recognized by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.

In addition to the certificate presentation ceremony, the event also featured the signing of a one-year extension of the partnership between KHN and PKBM Melati. This extension ensures that students in Paking and Harapan Maju villages can continue attending distance-learning classes and further their education.

The graduation ceremony was attended by Mentarang District Head Willy Charles, S.E., Paking Village Head Nanding Dawat, and representatives from Harapan Maju Village Government.

Through this programme, KHN remains committed to fostering the development of quality education in the areas surrounding the project site.
